Humans are, by nature social creatures. We are constantly in search of information and while we search, we share. Perhaps, we overshare. Gossip is on some level unavoidable. The knowledge we carry about others sets us up for comprehending our place in our world, our personality, and our every day actions. Gossip, essentially is a selfish form of communicating information, but it can also cause excitement and curiosity. Have you ever caught yourself with one of those burgeoning “secrets” that is bubbling at the surface of your throat and inching its way out of your mouth because you just cannot believe what happened to him or her, or their dog. We have currently painted gossip in a certain light, but when stripped down to its parts, it is an exchange. It is merely up to us to decide whether or not the exchange is wise.
