A lengthy informative monologue. We encounter these frequently in our formative years, from teachers, parents, adults, professors. Here, is where the listener is rarely waiting for a chance to comment. There is no antsy listener, not really listening, waiting to rebut the speaker. Discourse is a give and take. In our quest for knowledge or information we will try our best to go to the source. The source being another human who we know or we believe will have answers or simply an abundance of information we can use. Soak-in the knowledge others offer. Ask questions in return. Let others who you admire and respect know what their words are worth to you. When the time comes, reciprocate. Embrace the cyclical journey of communication we experience.
